For years now, every time I cleanse my hair, I follow with a pH balancing treatment after applying my rinse-out conditioner. It is just a simple mix of equal parts aloe vera and apple cider vinegar with a few spoons of a light oil and a few drops of your favorite carrier oil.
Recipe Example: 1 part aloe, 1 part apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 10 drops of both peppermint oil and lavender oil. Shake it up really well and apply!
I use the applicator tip to apply the mixture to my scalp and then I massage it all the way through to the ends and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I rinse but not thoroughly. I like to leave little traces of the solution in my hair when I am done.
This treatment keeps my scalp flake free and removes any excess skin or debris from the follicle, scalp, and hair. It goes on to aid in contracting the cuticle layers of the hair. This helps seal the conditioner and lubricants in from whichever conditioner and cleanser you just used. Best of all, it leaves the hair feeling super soft. I always look forward to this part of my cleansings!
I store my treatment in an applicator bottle and weather determines whether it will be kept in my fridge or in the shower.
