Refreshing Red Haircolor!

Greetings, to to all! Got a haircolor video to share! I’m so forgetful when it comes to taking a photo of the final look! I promise I’m going to do better!

I lifted her roots to a level 6/7 and refreshed her red color using two parts #Igora L-89 and one part #Chi 8RR with 30 volume. I rodded her with red, yellow and pink perm rods for a tight long lasting curl. Check it out! I hope you like!

Big Chop and Braids!

Greetings, everyone! I wanted to share a short video of a big chop I did earlier this week!

I had a client with natural hair that had been wearing sew-ins and for a while and had damaged parts of her hair from using flat irons. She wanted all the damage gone and the rest of her hair cut to an even length. We followed that with feed-in braids to give her a low maintenance style while growing re-growing her hair.

I used shears to cut her hair and used Hair Garden’s Mint cleanser and Mango Punch Conditioner. We are looking forward to returning her to a full, healthy head of hair!

Please post any questions or comments and thanks for visiting my blog!

Hairstyles for Natural Hair (video)

Greetings, lovely people! I put together a compilation of some of my favorite styles that I have done over the past year or so. Check it out and like and share if you liked anything you saw!

Alcohol in Your Hair Products: The Bad, Good and the Facts

Hello, beautiful people! When I first went natural, I felt like I couldn’t use anything on my hair because all of the moisturizers seemed to always have alcohol in them! Sometimes as the first ingredient!

After further research, I learned that not all alcohols are created equal and that some would actually be helpful in helping me achieve moisturized hair! I wanted to share that information with you all! Hopefully, it will make you look at some of your favorite moisturizers differently!

I am looking forward to doing more videos like this! If there are any topics you would like for me to cover, please let me know. I would really appreciate it! Thanks for stopping by!

Crusty Edges? Could Be Seborrheic Dermatitis!

Greetings, everyone! I had been trying to think of a common issue that many are facing with their scalps to do a video on. Then it came to me! Seborrheic Dermatitis!

It’s something that I have dealt with on and off for many years and was finally able to combat! It’s a very common skin condition that mostly affects the area where the forehead ends and the scalp begins. Many things can trigger this but it’s many due to a pH imbalance on the skin and in the hair follicle.

I wanted to share the little bit I know about it with you! Hopefully, you will find some helpful information!

Maintaining My Barber Cut!

Hello, lovelies! As I shared with you all a couple of months ago (on YouTube), I got a drastic haircut. Many call it the Big Chop but I just consider it a regular old hair cut. I was natural before the cut so I wasn’t embarking on anything drastically new except this new fire cut!😎

I’ve had short hair before so I didn’t think much about keeping it up. However, I have been asked more than once how I maintain my shorter hair. In this video I discuss why I decided to cut my hair, my maintenance regimen and the costs of maintaining a shorter do!

I enjoy interacting with you all! Any questions and positive suggestions are welcomed! Thanks for checking me out!

Short Hair with Flare!

Greetings, everyone! I thought I shared my new hair journey with you all! Obviously, I did not! Well, back in January, I’m thinking Jan. 15 to be exact, I made my mind up that I was ready to cut my hair. I had been admiring some fierce fades and short cuts with popping colors lately (like the one above😍).

Being a new mom I basically had zero time for my hair. No more time for home made treatments and sealing my ends whenever I felt like it. Wash day and detangling was a headache and I was experiencing a lot of shedding. I’m thinking postpartum hair loss was a contributing factor. My new growth was so much thicker than my ends so attemping to wear a fro was just a sad experience.

My scalp was also starting to suffer. I was wearing braids for the longest out of convenience and not cleansing like I should. I felt like my hair and scalp was basically in bad condition! I had the length I always wanted but couldn’t do anything with it so what was the point?

Fresh from the barbershop!

I am loving the cut. Right now, I am aiming to grow a mohawk. Maybe more like a faux hawk as you can see in the last pic I posted. I’m having fun with the designs too! I want to try all types of cuts and colors now!

1st design. Loved it!

I told the barber to get creative. I know you can’t tell but it’s purple up top💜

I’m going to do a separate post about how I maintain my shorter do so stay tuned for that! In the meantime, I made a short video with more details about my experience! You can see where i started and my final results! Check it out!

Thank for stopping by! See you soon!

Mohawk Madness!

Hello, out there! I’ve got some lovely hairstyles style to share with you. I absolutely love doing mohawk hairstyles and I have a couple of variations to share with you!

Cornrows with crochet!

The style above was executed with cornrows on the sides and bulk hair croched in the middle. Low maintenance hair style that lasts her about a month!

Pinned up mohawk
Mohawk before it’s pinned up!

The style you see above is simply cornrowed on the sides and two strand twisted in the center with afro braid hair. I love this style because of the versatility. You can wear it down or pin it up!
